Lodging and general advice

Hello -
My fiance and I are planning a trip to Culebra February 14 - 21 and trying to determine the best, most economical place to stay (clean, with kitchen, relatively near water). Any input on the following 4 places:
Palmetto Guest House
Villa Fulladoza
Villa Flamenco Beach (studio)
Casa Ensenada
Something else we don't know about?
Although we are pretty bug savy coming from the coast of SC - how are they mid-February on Culebra? We would greatly appreciate any general advice - we want to rent a boat, snorkel, shell hunt, sleep and enjoy!

Since you want to rent a boat, I'd look seriously at Casa Ensenada, because of the discount on the boat. I've not stayed there, but it certainly meets your criteria for close to the water (Ensenada Bay - not a swimming area, but cool sailboats at anchor to view).

Bugs are more of a problem on the lea side of the island, but even then, the only real problem I've had is no-see-ums at dusk. A spritz of Off on the ankles keeps me comfortable.

Check Villa Boheme, they have community kitchen, and some of their rooms have kitchen.
It is a water front, ( not beach front ), with dock to leave your boat.
It is very familiar, and many of their guest usually come to stay again.
It's location is walking distance from groceries, restaurants, and bars.
The temperature there is always warm and hot.
February is the most cool month of the year, but you will not need cool weather clothes ever.
