Due to extremely dry conditions, there is a strong fire threat in Culebra and the offshore cays. If hiking to remote beaches, please be very careful, do not smoke, and alert the Culebra Fire Department at 787-742-3530 or 787-343-2330 if you see smoke. The trails in Culebrita and the trail to Resaca Beach will be closed to the public sometime this week until further notice.
