Taxi from San Juan to Fajardo ferry

Does anyone know if we need to make reservations for a taxi to take us from the San Juan airport to the Fajardo ferry? Or can we just hail a taxi at the airport when we arrive to take us to Fajardo? I'm debating if I want to take a taxi or just fly right to Culebra. I called Air Flamenco and they said it would be $230 round trip per person, and since the taxi/ferry option is quite a bit cheaper for 2 people, I think I have decided on the taxi/ferry.

For flights try vieques airlink its $74 per person each way. Or to save some money and try both ways of travel, you can fly to the island and when you go back home you can go by ferry.

We fly over to Culebra from Isla Grande and then ride the ferry back and have John's publico meet us at the ferry dock and take us to SJU for our return flight. It makes it much cheaper for us since we bring our dive equipment, minus tanks and weights with us and the luggage overage charges for us can run out flights up.

I second Vicki's suggestion. We have not had to wait in line for the returning ferry from Culebra (we always take the first one at 6:30 am). John's Publico is great, but if you use him I would suggest emailing him and making a reservation. That way he will meet you either at the airport or the ferry docks and you don't have to search for someone.

I forgot to say that Linda. We always contact him well in advance and there he is with his smiling face upon our arrival into Fajardo.
