As I continue to make plans for my upcoming trip to Culebra, it is becoming clear that either on the way there or the way back I will likely need to tack on a night of camping somewhere near Fajardo. I will have a rental car for the trip from SJU as I hope to visit the rainforest as well. While on Culebra, I plan to pay the $5 to park it at the ferry dock.
So now what I am wondering if anyone here on this forum knows if camping is available in March at either Seven Seas or Luquillo beaches or anywhere else close to Fajardo? I am finding many conflicting reports online (specifically regarding the month of March) and can't get through to anyone at the suggested numbers to call. The other conflicting information is regarding getting to the campgrounds in the late afternoon...many sources say they lock gates around 5pm and it is impossible to get in to park after that, if they are even open for camping to begin with.
If anyone has advice...I would appreciate it! Trying to spend as little $ as possible and prefer to camp anyway!
Thanks!
Rue
