Mailing Packages From Home

Holllaaa, Culebra!

My name is Elaine Margarett and I am a new Culebra addict. DH and I visited for the first time in March, and we're planning a return trip this November with friends, as well as another visit in March 2009!

One of our friends has special dietary needs. While we'll be buying most of our groceries on Culebra, is it okay to send a package in advance from home with our friend's special wheat-free flour; etc.?

How would we do this? Just send it in advance to the Culebra Post office?

Mail it to yourself, General Delivery, Culebra, PR 00775. Diving Debbie suggests Express Mail. Pick it up promptly upon arrival as storage at the Culebra PO is scarce.

I posted this on the Dive Equipment thread - it's a comparison of cross-country (DC to SF not PR) shipping costs which might give you an idea of one carrier vs. another. US Post does seem to be the most affordable.

Diving Debbie suggests priority mail, insured. Express is way too expensive.
