Culebra to Vieques?

I'm traveling to pr for my one year anniversary. We will spended most our time on Culebra but want to do the bio bay tour on vieques. Can anyone tell my if they know of any transportation between the island via boat or plane? Please help!!!

You can take the ferry but it takes awhile. If you take the 1 p.m. ferry from Culebra to Fajardo then take the 3 p.m. ferry to Vieques, it's not too bad (there is no longer a direct ferry). Not sure of the schedule if you are returning to Culebra. You would need to stay in Vieques overnight as the ferry doesn't run that late and I doubt that planes do either. There may be direct flights between the islands.

what are the chances of flying back & forth between culebra and vieques? does anyone do it? thanks for the ferry info!

it seems like every time I've flown, we stop on Vieques anyway there or back, just ask (if you can get them on the line) and I'm sure something can be arranged. keep asking the regulars here...

the air companies are notorious for not answering, you just need to be persistent.

They are really quite good once you're on board.

Evidently, any flights between Viequs and Culebra are "on-demand" meaning they won't fly unless 5 or 6 seats are sold. I find myself hoping that 3 or 4 additional people will sign up for the VQS to CPX, Mar. 6 flight. Does anyone need to travel that day? It is tentatively scheduled to depart VQS at 1 pm. The fare is supposed to be about $28.00.

I'm looking for VQS to CPX on Mar.21st and CPX to VQS Mar. 24th. I talked to Isle Nena Air. They basically said that the closer to the date you want to fly the more they will know about if they are going to fly and with how many people. Number of passengers dictates the price. They told me high-end $60 each oneway- low-end $30 each one-way. It sounded like the flight schedule is created a week in advance based on requests. I'm also hoping a few people are trying to fly those dates.

there will be others flying, I've seen as few as 2 dropped off/picked up and as many as a family of 6 - the rest of us (4) were booked to CPX so their luggage had to go separate on the next flight.

these operations are so small, they really can't book too far ahead (as frustrating as that is) but they do their best and generally accommodate. I also suspect they deal with what I call the "flake factor"

I think they should accept online bookings with a right to reverse the charges until 2 weeks before flight time - that way we would now and they do not have the problem with the 'flake factor'
