Hi I`m Maricarmen Guilloty a massage therapist in Culebra... In 2003 it was approved in Puerto Rico a law that requires that all massage therapist that wants to work here to have a minimum of 1,000 hours training in massage school...
That law was created for many reasons being one of them that hotels in Puerto Rico were bringing massage therapists to Puerto Rico that had just 250 hours or 500 trainig in massage school... and the people that have been doing massage here for years and had at least 1,000 hours and were more prepared were leaving behind... Today the are still working in a test to get a license in Puerto Rico but that doesn`t exist but what they do require is that you have at least a 1,000 certificate in any massage school if you want to work within the law parameters... lot of people from the sttes that come here don`t have that but that started taking continuing education courses in masage schools of PR to have the hours, I can give you the info of my school just in case you want more info: PR Massage and Bodywork Institute 787-728-0536... if you have the requierements and want to work here welcome to this beautiful island...
