What does "rain" in Culebra really mean?

So, I'll be on Culebra for the first time from May 11-15, and I'm seeing nothing but RAIN in the forecast! Thunderstorms, even!

I'm curious, however....what does "rain" on Culebra mean? Steady, pounding, all-day rain, or brief periods of showers followed by sun again?

I know it's a "warm rain", but I am so frustrated that it'll be raining during my vacation!

I'll bring a light rain poncho, but anything else that might help us? We're renting a scooter, so that might be sorta miserable in the rain.....

My familiy and I were in Culebra from April 5 -14 wth the same forecast. We had rain on 3 nights, but none during the day. One early evening shower. You could certainly see thunder clouds and fairly heavy rain all around us, but we never got hit with any during the day. Clouds came and went, but we were good with those, otherwise the sun can be quite intense. This was our second year in Culebra and we had a terrific time.

same here - we were there the last week of March and the forecast said it would rain - we had nothing but bright sunny days and the only rain we had was when we neared Fajardo at the end of our stay. have a great time!

Same here again. April 3-9, only rain in the forecast (and flood/high surf advisories at the beginning) but it was NOTHING but sun the whole time! It woudl get a little overcast almost every day around 4:00 PM, but you'll probably be leaving the beach around then anyway. The only rain we did see was on our way to the airport to leave--it rained for about 10-15 minutes and then was perfectly sunny.

I'm also headed out that way next weekend. What about rain on the main island? We'll be staying in Dorado, but want to go out to Culebra at least one day. I keep seeing rain, but am hoping for the best!!!
