How bad do the lines get for the last ferry from Fajardo to Culebra--how bad will it be for Saturday May 24 especially, and how early should we get to the harbor before the departure time?

Secondly, I hear that the island will be filled with festivities this weekend--any advice on any interesting happenings?

If you try to come to Culebra on Memorial Day weekend, you might be dissapointed and be left at the dock in Fajardo unless you are willing to spend most of the day there waiting on available ferry space. People go there and camp the night before to make a line, it is somewhat like rock concerts that I remember in the states long ago. The ferry dock in Fajardo will be a mob scene. If you have a choice, I would strongly recommend that you come to Culebra to enjoy it for its beauty on a non-holiday weekend.

Are there other ways of getting to the island in case that is the situation? Could we hire a taxi boat?
