Rental Car on Culebra Ferry?

Hello. My family is planning a trip to Culebra in the end of April. We were planning on renting a car in San Juan and taking the car on the ferry. I recently read that "often you will be bumped from the ferry". Can anyone comment on our odds of getting bumped and missing trip there or back. Thank you.

Sorry I should have read before posting. Change to question. Can you park rental car safely at ferry dock on main island? Also, how necessary is a car on either Culebra or Vieques for a small family that wants to do very little except sit on beach. Thanks again..

Yes you can leave the car safely at the parking located close to the ferry dock, you will not miss it, there are two, one to your left the other to your right.
Once in Culebra you may use public transport, if you are staying at Culebra Beach Villas, you may need the transport to eat.
You may need to rent, if you are sightseeing a lot. Public transport takes time, and the timing in the island is greater than in the main island.
