Comparing prices to the stuff you buy on the mainland US to Puerto Rico, I would say add 15% to the price you would expect. Some things, like a dozen eggs on Culebra could be as much as $4. Gas is definitely more expensive, but you really don't use much. The island is small. You don't take the ferry to San Juan. It goes to Fajardo. But do you really want to spend your time with long ferry commutes and then ground transport to shop on the main island? If you just have to shop at Walmart in Fajardo, do it before you get to Culebra. The prices are reasonable. We've done the shopping every way you could imagine for different trips to Culebra. In the end, it was more relaxing and enjoyable to buy what you could on Culebra and just take in the island for what it offers, cause you can't buy that anywhere else.
