Share Charter Flight to Culebra

Author: Wes Hoffman (---.tx.res.rr.com) Date:   09-21-08 14:21 We are flying to Culebra Oct 2 - Oct 6 and have chartered a flight with Culebra Air Services. The plane seats six so we are looking for anyone who would be interested in sharing the flight to distribute the cost. We will be leaving San Juan around 10:30am Oct 2nd and leaving Culebra around 10:00am Oct 6th. If these flight times are convenient for anyone please let me know. The round trip flight is $850. Looking forward to some beautiful beaches!!

Author: bosie (---.ulmer.com) Date:   09-22-08 10:11 Jeannie, I think he means $850 to charter the whole plane for six passengers which would roughly be $142 per person round trip, and I am assuming that is from SJU not Isla Grande. Pay a little more for the convenience of leaving from SJU?

A one-way seat would cost $72. Sorry for the confusion. I will check if the charter leaves from SJU or Isla Grande. We're paying a little more for the convenience of not having to spend 8 hours (of an already short vacation) waiting for scheduled flights in/out of SJU. :) Are there less expensive charters out there? Other services were charging up to $1300 for a round trip "on-demand" flight.

They are r/t 105 pp & go from the smaller, regional airport in San Juan, which is just a 15 min. taxi ride from the Int'l airport. Very convenient & much less expensive. Author: Doug (---.dsl.stlsmo.swbell.net) Date:   09-22-08 16:45 Hi Terrie, The only inconvenience seems to occur when one's flight lands at SJU too late to catch a scheduled flight to CPX. St. Louis to SJU flights are big culprits since AA closed down the STL hub. Many times the connection just can't be made. If the issue is time, it's $50 well spent; if it's money, you still have to factor the SJU hotel bill into the tally. Better to sleep the first night at Palmetto, eh? Doug

Author: Wes Hoffman (---.tx.res.rr.com) Date:   09-22-08 19:15 We actually have to fly to MIA the night before (7 hours layover in MIA) waiting for the first flight to SJU. Coming from Dallas that was the only option to arrive early on the 2nd and still have enough day left to relax. The problem is that the next scheduled flight to CPX isn't until 1:00pm (3 hour layover in SJU) and the only return flight from CPX is at 7:00am (5 hour layover in SJU). The only other possibility was spend the whole day flying on the 2nd, get stuck in SJU that night and arrive on the 3rd. Airlines have reduced their schedules recently - flights are limited and connections difficult. We have a small window to take this trip so our options are limited and we definitely want to maximize our "Culebra time". Still looking for passengers!!! Wes
