Can someone advise of the ferry situation in culebra? Is it running. There are so many different reports going around.

Yes the ferry is running. Today they are using the cargo boat, however this is not entirely unusual as there are always boats under repair & frequently a cargo ferry is substituted.

I just got back from Culebra last week and the cargo ferry is running as the passenger ferry dock in Culebra is broken now. The cargo ferry is very erratic and the day i landed, the 3PM cargo ferry left at 11PM. The morning cargo ferry usually leaves on time, so you might want to get the 9AM ferry if possible.

The cargo boat is currently the boat that is running. Although, this is not completely out of the ordinary as often the cargo boat would be substituted for the passenger ferry when one (or more) of the passenger ferries was/were out for maintenance.

Also, even though there were days when the schedule was (very) erratic, it should be noted that this is not always & that a solution to the problem is being worked on.

Too, what holds true one day can change drastically the next, so the best thing to do is to verify your personal travel plans when your travel dates draw near.

Hello, the ferry has always been a problem and it doesn't seem to get better. another option you have that never fails is using our water taxi service from Fajardo to Culebra. if you need rates just write to us.

I hope things get back to normal by the first week of October. I have my plans to bring a smile to a dear old friend's face after the loss of his former girlfriend and his little girl. Bad time for him and looking forward to cheering him up while experiencing the beauty of your island.

However, even if there is a problem with the ferry, there is still one of the airlines that is flying to Culebra without the need for a charter, is there not?

Vieques Air Link has scheduled flights, however as they are limited you would most likely need to book well ahead.

There is also the water taxi option as per the above post.
