Good day to everyone! Thanks to this site we have changed our vacation plans from the mainland to Culebra. This site has been wonderful at expressing the quietness, seclusion, friendly atmosphere that I hope to enjoy in the latter parts of March. Great Job! A few leftover questions. 1st I have a 17 year old son who is 2 months from turning 18. Is it an issue if he has a few of the local beers with his old man on the beach or some of the local rum, as we want want to support local breweries!:) How strict are they on Culebra under the watchful eye of a parent. 2nd we are going to have a Jeep on the island and will definetly check out Flamenco Beach but would also like to know peoples opinion of the top 2 or 3 quiet secluded get away beaches on Culebra. From studying the site I have Zoni, Carlos Rosario, and Bravo beach. Would those be accurate for nice secluded beaches? Other beach ideas? Our plans are to spend the first 2 days of our vacation on Culebra Beach rentals and then Bahini Marini for the remainder of the trip. Reviews? Opinions on that plan. Things to look out for things to enjoy?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Jermey,

Your son should do fine, as long as he doesn't make a fool of himself in public. He may also want to try to grow a beard over the next few weeks (:>)

You have listed some of the best beaches, and others folks may have suggestions. Our teenage to 20 something children and their cousins loved Flamenco so much that we kept going back there, but we did hit several of the other beaches you mentioned. Your son will have the opportunity to meet other folks at the "less secluded" beaches, if that is a priority.

We stayed at Bahia Marina Condos and recommend them very highly. Comfortable rooms, fully furnished, AC, great pool, delicious restaurant.

I have some photo albums here: http://honeymoon2.smugmug.com/

Enjoy your trip, alashas

you can find even more secluded spots if you're willing to hike/climb, but you're verging on an "Omega Man/Lord of the Flies" scenario at a certain point.

your choices are good, if there are more than 10 people on Zoni, and that feels like too many keep walking North (left from the parking) over the rocks and around the point.

secluded enough?
