It looks like tomorrow things *may* get back to what we call normal, which means we're not sure what will happen, especially as there is a backlog on people (and cargo) in and out. It's all about the weather, ya know. But...I did want to add this.
There were quite a few business people who thought they'd be on holiday today, who were instead taking in provisions from the one cargo ferry that arrived...I don't know if Heather got her pizza dough (Heather's Pizza_, but I know Susie (Susie's restaurant) got some things...some on one truck, some on another. Hector and Sandra (Milka's colmado) came in and I'm sure said, sorry! to 249 people who thought they were open. Apparently Sandra did sell some ice though!
As a person who depends on the in and out of tourists, I should have been, perhaps, a bit more bothered by the lack of visitors, but I have to say, the quiet was kind of nice. Great tourists putting up with being here (putting up with basically lovely weather, good people, etc. oh the trials! of an extra 2 or 3 unexpected days - yet I know they were spending more than planned; we all know the *end of holiday* feeling, especially on the wallet) with good humour, good attitudes.
Not so many vehicles (no gasoline, ya know). Include today being Good Friday so a lot of places were closed. I didn't hear ONE gripe or groan today, just "Do you know what MIGHT be open to get some ____?" sort of questions. Somehow, this bit of adversity went over well. Overall, we have pretty awesome tourists here, and that showed in these last few days of weird.
Sweet.
